FAOS PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS AND TOURS

Workshops are learning intensive field courses with a small number of participants. The goal is to cover the essential technical and creative topics and gaining understanding of light.
Tours emphasize on visiting locations, and less on instruction. The schedule however reflects more the idea of discovering amazing scenery and is less repetitive than a workshop.
Private tours/ workshops are for a single participant. However it is possible to bring along a friend to share the experience and costs. Private 1 on 1 courses are tailored made to meet your specific needs. If you are looking for a master class or simply a photographic holiday this is an excellent option for you.

Faos Philosophy   Faos comes from the ancient Greek word meaning Light and Photography(again in Greek) means "writing with Light". And this is the focus of our workshops and tours. Additionally, we expand on the other two important bases: general education on photography and technical aspects of capture. With a good understanding on the above mentioned a photographer is on his way to creative expression through imagery.

What is in it for me?  Precious light is equally precious as time, especially today. Workshops allow participants to speed-track into advanced photography; no matter how novice one is at the start. Workshops provide a good inexpensive platform to learning. In just a week we cover ground that takes a whole semester and more to cover at universities. And this happens on the field with intense hands on experience, in small dynamic groups, which further ensures personal attention to every single attendee. Your instructions come directly from an active professional and not someone who left the field years ago. Many photographers spend a lot of money travelling far, only to be disappointed with the resulting images they bring back home. Our workshops ensure you gain the knowledge that will prevent this from happening. Participants already know they spend a lot of time with photography and much more trying to improve their images; sometimes endlessly on post-processing. Our focus is to get you on the field away from the computer ripping the rewards of a satisfying photographic experience. In the end our workshops will save you both money and time while they develop your "Light writing" skills

As long as it works anything goes (the way we do it)  You might miss breakfast, but not the sun rise, but then again it might be raining. There is no set curriculum and the daily schedule goes according to light (what other way is there?). We don't focus on paper hand outs and stay away from safe truths about photography. Getting out of one's comfort zone thus becomes paramount. We scout, improvise, discuss on photography and most of all breathe, eat and dream light. Most workshops and tours do not require particular fitness and are suitable for all ages. Critiques, image reviews and studying the masters, all can be part of any given workshops during down time. No two workshops are the same. They each take a life of their own but have always been in a relaxed fun environment (which is quite an understatement). But relaxed does not mean we take photography lightly, to the contrary one must be prepared for a complete overdose of light and image.
